how do I use the beat remixer panel

What is a good introduction to utilizing the beat remixer panel? Do you have any suggestions?

Basically, the beat remixer cuts up every 2-beat section of the track (into 2, 4, 8, or 16 pieces), and rearranges the pieces.

The grid always represents two full beats (or whatever the beat detector decides is a beat). It picks a starting point, then works on every pair of beats for the whole track. So each part of the 2×2 is a quarter note, each part of the 4×4 is an eighth note, 8×8 is each 16th notes, and 16×16 are each 32nd notes.

Some examples:

Plays in order:
…O
..O.
.O..
O…

Repeats the first half-beat four times:
….
….
….
OOOO

Repeats the last half-beat four times
OOOO
….
….
….

Plays the last half-beat, then the third, then the second, then the first:
O…
.O..
..O.
…O

Let’s say the song keeps repeating (in eighth notes), Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do

So the first example would come out just like that
| Do Re Mi Fa | So La Ti Do |

The second example would repeat the first Do 4 times, then So 4 times:

Do Do Do Do So So So So

The third would repeat Fa, then the last Do:
| Fa Fa Fa Fa | Do Do Do Do |

And the last would play the first four in reverse order, then the second 4 in reverse order:
| Fa Mi Re Do | Do Ti La So |

Note that this doesn’t mean the whole thing plays truly backwards, like running a vinyl in reverse. Each eighth-note-sized piece plays like normal, but the order is reversed.
